Leeds fans have been left puzzled and concerned over Patrick Bamford following their latest pre-season friendly with Cagliari.
The Whites drew 1-1 with the Italian opposition but the former Middlesbrough man continued to frustrate in what has seemingly been a difficult period for the 25-year-old.
Bamford arrived at Elland Road last summer but missed a total of 22 games through injury and was even banned at one stage for deceiving the officials following an incident against Aston Villa.
And after his display at the weekend, supporters took to Twitter to register their concerns. One individual expressed that he didn’t think Leeds were playing to his strengths whilst another said he never bullied centre-halves when playing up front. A further fan said he looked confused.
Others were far more aggressive in their response as he was labelled a fraud. One fan even said that his body language was shocking.
The attacker scored nine times in the Championship last term which was quite an impressive total despite only starting 16 matches.
However, his season was marred by injury and a lack of discipline as he found himself booked for diving in the play-offs too.
Here’s the best of the debate.
As he played the lone striker, did you see how many balls were kicked up to him to do what with, yes roofe is different style, but are we playing to bamford strengths? I doubt it

For me he’s a 10 likes dropping in linking up nowhere near a no 9 not physical enough never bullies centre halves not a natural poacher

He’s as light as a feather and his body language is shocking it’s almost like he doesn’t want to score.

He needs a bit more bulk and get more aggressive imo. There’s a player in there that can potentially give us 20 goals

I think he can bag goals but he needs a good talking to by the staff to get there. Since his injury he runs away from challenges, when theres a loose ball by the edge of the box he dangles a foot at it rather than showing some grit to win the ball

Spends a lot of time in midfield holding the ball up for others. I think he’s confused about where he’s meant to be on the pitch.

He’s far too soft. Doesn’t look like he plays with conviction at all.

He’s exactly what you say, someone who has coasted most of his career ,then when he signs for a REAL football club he’s totally exposed,he should be playing for somebody like reading, never been or will be a Leeds player,I was gutted when we signed him
