Loads of Leeds fans have been reacting to Marcelo Bielsa’s post-Birmingham comments, and he’s got them feeling confident about bouncing straight back.
Leeds’ perfect start to life under Bielsa finally ended on Saturday, as Che Adams scored twice to help Garry Monk’s Birmingham to a 2-1 win at Elland Road.
If truth be told, the visitors outplayed and outfought Leeds, especially in the first half, and they deserved their three points.
Plenty of fans were frustrated by the officiating and time-wasting on Saturday, but the charismatic Leeds boss is taking full ownership of the defeat.
“I don’t have any complaints against the referee,” Bielsa said.
“The referee can sometimes take the right decision, sometimes the wrong one, but I don’t think he influenced the result.
“The problem is that this (time wasting) happened many times because the opponent had many injuries and this provoked irritation from those of us who wanted a different result. But I see this as me not being able to get a different result.”
Taking ownership of your mistakes makes them a lot easier to fix, and fans are praising the manager’s comments.
He will likely be forced to call on fringe players once again on Friday, as no one from the growing injury list is expected to return to face Sheffield Wednesday.
While a home defeat to a struggling side would usually be met with mass panic in recent seasons, fans are still feeling confident they can get promoted the Bielsa way.

Class act is Bielsa. A fit Pablo would've orchestrated the fightback much better than Saiz or Alioski ever could. Badly missed, as is Roofe's ability to dazzle in the box.

A true sign of the class of the man.
Stood up and fronted up.
You can only admire him even more.
Just important we get 3 points on Friday and keep the winning habit in our blood.

Looking forward to Friday’s game and seeing how Bielsa gets a positive response. No knee jerk reaction, everything meticulously thought out.

Lets hope the players who didnt do their job properly repay Bielsa’s loyalty to them by making amends.

Not only would some past managers have thrown Phillips under the bus they’d have been the driver of it too.

Bielsa is #1 , it’s great to have a manager who’ll back his team to the hilt . Not like #Moaninho

Proper leader – in the end it’s not the battles you lost but the war you won that counts
