Leeds fans on Twitter buzzing as Bamford signs for an initial £7m

Striker Patrick Bamford has completed his move from Middlesbrough to fellow Championship side Leeds United, and fans of the Whites have been getting excited on Twitter.

According to Sky Sports, the fee for Bamford is an initial £7m that will rise to £10m for the young Englishman who netted 11 goals in 39 league appearances for Boro last season.

The 24-year-old began his career at Chelsea and spent a series of loan spells in the Championship, including one at Middlesbrough during the 2014/15 season where he was named the league’s player of the year after scoring 17 goals.

After three more loan deals, Boro went back to Chelsea to sign Bamford on a permanent deal in January 2017.

Leeds appointed Marcelo Bielsa as manager this summer and the fans were initially frustrated with the lack of signings to support their new boss. However, they have recently added Barry Douglas from Wolves and have completed loan deals for Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman from Chelsea and Jack Harrison from Manchester City.
