Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has revealed that he was unwell in the build-up to his team’s Championship clash with Wigan Athletic on Sunday, but powered through as he did not want to let the side down.
As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Forhsaw said that he did not train ahead of the match, and joined up with the squad late due to illness.
The midfielder was keen not to miss the game, however, and ultimately helped his side record a 2-1 win over Wigan.
The Leeds fans have been reacting to the revelation on social media, and it would be fair to say that Forshaw’s words have gone down very well indeed.
The midfielder missed the early stages of the 2018-19 campaign with a foot injury, but has been regularly involved for Leeds in recent weeks as he builds back to fitness.
