Leeds United announced on Thursday that Spanish midfielder Oriol Rey had left the Whites to join Real Valladolid on a permanent deal.
Rey joined Leeds from Barcelona in 2017 but failed to make a single first-team appearance during his time with the English club.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Spanish outfit Conquense and it has now been confirmed that he has joined Valladolid ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Despite failing to make the first team at Elland Road, the 5 ft 10 ace impressed for the club’s Under-23 side and actually earned a new two-year contract last summer.

Rey took to social media on Thursday to officially announce his departure and, as expected, the Leeds fans were out in force with positive messages for the midfielder.
A selection of the Twitter reaction to his departure can be seen below:
Good luck mate. One player who really impressed me for Under 23s. Shame that you weren’t able to get the chance. Good luck in the future.
