Leeds fans react as Oriol Rey leaves Elland Road

Leeds United announced on Thursday that Spanish midfielder Oriol Rey had left the Whites to join Real Valladolid on a permanent deal.

Rey joined Leeds from Barcelona in 2017 but failed to make a single first-team appearance during his time with the English club.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Spanish outfit Conquense and it has now been confirmed that he has joined Valladolid ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Despite failing to make the first team at Elland Road, the 5 ft 10 ace impressed for the club’s Under-23 side and actually earned a new two-year contract last summer.

The Spaniard was also on the bench for the first team in January 2018, before making the squad for a Championship fixture at the start of last season.
