In one of the most important nights in Northern Ireland’s history, one of their key players Stuart Dallas was taken off injured following a horror tackle from a Switzerland defender.
While Northern Ireland’s World Cup 2018 hopes hang in the balance, Dallas’ injury is also a significant blow for Leeds United, especially if the 26-year-old is out of action for the next few weeks.
Dallas has found it hard to break into the first team at Elland Road this season and, despite playing in 15 games already this campaign, just five of these were as a starter.
However, the Northern Irishman offers something different to Thomas Christiansen’s team with pace, directness and a willingness to run at defenders. This would have been an extremely beneficial asset for Leeds’ upcoming game against Middlesbrough, but it looks as though Dallas may be unavailable after tonight’s injury.
