An away trip to the Emirates in the FA Cup would usually be one of the highlights of any Leeds supporter’s season, but Monday’s clash seemed like a bit of a non-occasion for a number of fans.
It seems as if a large section of the Elland Road faithful weren’t too bothered about progressing in the world’s oldest cup competition and that was shown by the reactions to the starting XI announcement.

Earlier this week, we predicted Leeds to play a heavily rotated starting XI, and while we correctly predicted debuts for Robbie Gotts and Illan Meslier, the Whites opted to field an incredibly strong lineup.
The likes of Ben White, Mateusz Klich and Jack Harrison who have started every single league game this season weren’t given a rest for the Arsenal game.
Understandably, with the Yorkshire club knocking on the door of the Premier League, some supporters were worried about the prospect of their star players picking up injuries.
Respect but if kalvin or Bamford get injured we will be having words marcelo

White, Phillips, Bam should all have been rested. Excited for Meslier, Gotts, but this match means nothing. Promotion means everything. Fingers crossed no injuries to anyone. MOT, and stay healthy lads!

One specific worry from some fans was an injury to Patrick Bamford.
The former Middlesbrough man is now the only senior striker in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad after Eddie Nketiah was recalled by Arsenal, and if anything were to happen to him, the Whites would be left incredibly short up top.
Wouldn’t have been risking Bamford tonight. Stupid. #lufc

Keep Bamford and his glass knees off that pitch until we have another striker
