Marcelo Bielsa has revealed the full extent of the “Spygate” scandal that has rocked the Championship.
Leeds United’s manager admitted to spying on Derby County’s training sessions prior to beating them 2-0 on Friday.
And, at an impromptu press conference on Wednesday, he has now amazingly revealed that he has spied on every team Leeds have faced thus far this season.
He said, per the Yorkshire Evening Post: “My goal is to make the EFL investigation easier.”
Bielsa then admitted to spying on every single club they have faced this season, and added: “By doing this, I assume the possible sanction that the authorities might bring.”
It remains to be seen how Leeds may be punished by the relevant authorities.
The Elland Road club are currently top of the Championship, four points clear of second-placed Sheffield United.
Leeds have won 16 of their 27 outings this season, scoring 46 goals and conceding 28 along the way.
And supporters and pundits alike have, perhaps surprisingly, expressed their admiration for the Argentine, with many praising his honesty.
I sort of love Bielsa. “I observed all the rivals we played against and watched the training sessions of all our opponents before we played against them” ?

Bielsa’s upfrontness, his basic honesty and sense of morality when (contradiction alert) admitting his wrongs is really quite something. So different to the rest. One time at Athletic he denounced himself to police because of an altercation with a builder.

All @lufc fans have fallen in love with Bielsa this season. He will deliver the promised land in May. The way he is handling the ludicrous reaction to “Spygate” only serves to deepen our love for him. His name will be sung louder than ever on Saturday. #mot #waccoe #wall #alaw

I am a little bit in ❤️ with Marcelo Bielsa. He has just articulated what every single team does in the days before a game: you study your opposition, their formation, their players, their set pieces and their mentality. There’s nothing to answer here ?
