Leeds fans are delighted their goalkeeper search is over, as reports claim the club have reached a deal to sign Jamal Blackman on loan from Chelsea.
The drought is over, Leeds fans are finally going to see a new signing. According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have agreed terms with Chelsea on a one-year loan deal for Blackman, who spent last season on loan with Sheffield United.
The 24 year-old will now undergo a medical, and could even feature in the opening pre-season match against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday.
While a goalscorer is no doubt still top of the priority list, signing a new goalkeeper was right up there too, and Blackman will compete immediately with Bailey Peacock-Farrell for the number one spot.
The Northern Irishman took the helm at Elland Road thanks to the shocking form of Felix Wiedwald, who has now left the club.
Veteran stopper Andy Lonergan also left this summer, meaning the two youngsters will now battle it out for the number one spot.
Leeds fans are loving the signing, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Very solid keeper, commanded his area well when we played against him, at the time I wished we had him instead of Felix, come to think of it I wanted anyone but Felix.
