Leeds fans react to Pontus Jansson injury news

Leeds United fans have been on social media reacting to a report that Pontus Jansson has been forced to withdraw from the Sweden squad with a foot problem.

Jansson picked up the injury in Leeds’ 4-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship at the weekend, and according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, has now been forced to leave the Sweden squad.

Leeds are yet to comment on the severity of the injury, but the club’s supporters are already fearing that the 19-time international could be set for a period on the sidelines.

The Whites are already without defenders Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi with knee and hamstring injuries respectively, and losing Jansson for a long period would be a huge blow to the club’s chances of earning promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa recently said that it would be difficult to sign new players in January, but the club could be forced into the transfer market if Jansson has to spend an extended spell on the sidelines.
