Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that Luke Ayling could return for this weekend’s Championship clash with Aston Villa.
Ayling, 27, has been on the sidelines since picking up a knee injury during Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Championship on October 27.
However, the defender is in line to return to the starting XI against Villa.
The news is big for Leeds when considering their recent injury problems, and it would be fair to say that the club’s supporters were excited to hear Bielsa’s update.
Ayling – a 2016 arrival from Bristol City – has 14 Championship appearances to his name this season, and captained the Whites back in August.
There is no downplaying the importance of Sunday’s Championship clash between Leeds and Villa, with both teams feeling that they deserve to return to the Premier League for the 2019-2020 campaign.
