Leeds United suffered their first defeat under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa on Tuesday evening after being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Preston.
The Peacocks named a second-strength side for the second round fixture at Elland Road, making nine changes to the side that defeated Norwich City at the weekend – as Bielsa kept one eye on Friday’s crunch clash with promotion rivals Middlesbrough.
Despite Preston playing over an hour with ten men following Ryan Ledson’s red card, Leeds could not capitalise and some players were singled out for criticism amongst fans on social media.
One of those was 19-year-old Tyler Roberts, who has battled back from injury problems but failed to catch the eye in Tuesday’s defeat and was substituted after 60 minutes.
Some fans appear to have lost faith in the teenager and others expressed their belief that he is simply not good enough for the first-team. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Tyler Roberts I'm afraid just isn't good enough for first team
£4 million wasted in my eyes

Last Leeds sub: Tyler Roberts off (disappointing tonight), Alioski on. 61st minute. #lufc

Worth remembering. He’s 19, and coming back from 6 months out with injury.

You could say he’s been disappointing since the ink dried on the contract…

He’s not good enough for Leeds United, decent player though

Tyler Roberts and jack Harrison don’t quite cut it for me yet and Dallas looked poor again

Now we see how Bielsa handles a loss. I'd be surprised if some players are allowed to see family before Friday. Rumours that Tyler Roberts is already in a holding cell for the night #lufc
