Leeds fans think Douglas was the signing of the century

Lots of Leeds fans have been reflecting on their recent form, and remarkable influence of Barry Douglas has not gone unnoticed.

Andrea Radrizzani and Marcelo Bielsa must have thought they’d won the lottery when they signed Douglas for a mere £3m this summer.

The flying Scotsman is now absolutely crucial to Bielsa’s system, and since the beginning of last season he boasts a truly incredible 17 Championship assists.

Even without the assist numbers that Kevin De Bruyne would be proud of, the 29-year-old has been exceptional in other areas of the game as well.

He is winning 2.9 tackles per game and making 2.6 clearances per game, all while only being dribbled past 0.6 times per game which is far lower than the league average for full-backs.

Radrizzani and Victor Orta have taken plenty of stick since they arrived at Elland Road, but the summer move for Douglas is starting to look like one of the bargains of the century.

Fans are heaping praise on the move, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
