On Monday, it was revealed that Sheffield United had secured the loan services of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood for the first half of the 2018-19 campaign, ahead of a permanent deal in January.
The 5ft 11in tall Norwood impressed on loan at Fulham in the Championship last term, and after being deemed surplus to requirements by Brighton this summer, was always likely to head back to the Championship for the new season.
The 27-year-old has plenty of experience at Championship level, having also turned out for Huddersfield Town and Reading in the second tier of English football.
Leeds United were also credited with an interest, and their supporters urged head coach Marcelo Bielsa to move for the former Manchester United youngster last week.
Norwood has now joined Sheffield United though, and the Leeds fans have been offering their views on social media, with many disappointed that their club did not sign him.
A selection of the Twitter reaction in relation to the Norwood deal can be seen below:
Guess Leeds didn’t want Norwood then.

Sheff United getting Norwood suggests we’re finding someone better…right? 🤔 #lufc

Got to be TBH, think Norwood ticks every box we are looking for in a midfield player – wonder if we will get Besic on loan now his Boro deal fell through? Only player I can see been available that has better pedigree than Norwood

A bloke who has promotions under his belt and has played in the high press, quick passing game before, available even without a fee is a ridiculous miss, mate. He was a bargain at £1.5m, he is an absolute steal on loan.
