Leeds fans unhappy with Alioski performance

Leeds United began their preparations for the 2018-19 campaign with a 2-1 win over Forest Green Rovers in their first pre-season match on Tuesday night.

Kemar Roofe and Luke Ayling scored the goals for the Championship outfit, with Marcelo Bielsa picking up a win in his first match in charge.

There were a number of positives for the Leeds fans, but it would be fair to say that a number were not impressed with the performance of attacker Ezgjan Alioski.

The 26-year-old joined Leeds from Lugano in last summer’s transfer window, and actually scored seven times and registered five assists in 42 Championship matches last term.

Alioski showed his quality in flashes, but failed to convince on a regular basis, and the 5ft 8in ace’s overall quality has been questioned by a number of Leeds fans ahead of the new season.

Leeds have been frustrated in this summer’s transfer market, but the club are expected to be busy over the next few weeks with the 2018-19 Championship campaign drawing ever closer.
