Leeds United were back in pre-season training on Monday as preparations for the new campaign get underway.
It does not seem too long ago that the 2017-18 campaign finished – well it wasn’t to be fair – but it is now all steam ahead to the new season.
Marcelo Bielsa held his first press conference as Leeds boss on Monday afternoon, and there will be plenty of eyes on the former Premier League club next season.
It would be fair to say that the Leeds fans are optimistic heading into the new campaign, although they are still hopeful that plenty of players will arrive and indeed leave before the end of the summer window.
One individual that has been picked out on social media is Kalvin Phillips, who scored seven times in 41 Championship appearances for the Whites last season.
However, despite a decent campaign on paper, the Leeds fans have urged new head coach Bielsa to sell the 22-year-old this summer.
Phillips, who is valued at £4.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, came through the youth system at Leeds, but he is currently being heavily criticised by the Championship club’s supporters.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
Hopefully he’ll be sold before then joining mowatt in the lower leagues where his ability belongs
