Leeds fans want Berardi dropped for Boro clash

Loads of Leeds fans have been discussing their defensive options for the clash against Middlesbrough, and plenty are calling for the in-form Gaetano Berardi to lose his place.

While the clichés will tell you not to change a winning side, particularly a winning defence, and to never drop a form player, Leeds fans are worried about Boro’s threat from set pieces.

Tony Pulis’s side are one of the tallest teams in the Championship, and they scored the most set piece goals of any team in the league last season.

They showed this prowess once again last week, leaving it late to pop up with a set piece goal to beat West Brom.

Berardi has been in fantastic form playing out of position as a centre back, but the return to fitness of Liam Cooper has got fans calling for a change.

Pontus Jansson and Cooper are both much better in the air than the Swiss international, and that could prove vital against Boro’s aerial threat.
