Leeds fans want Corberan to stay and take over from Bielsa in the future

Leeds United fans on Twitter are desperate for Carlos Corberan to stay at Elland Road after he was linked with a move to Spanish third division outfit Cultural Leonesa.

Supporters believe that if he stays at the club he could one day become the manager of the first team.

The club are controlled by Qatar’s Aspire Academy, the development centre that the Yorkshire club established a partnership with in 2018.

The Spanish club finished fifth in their division last season, but they are now on the hunt for a new manager after Jose Manuel Aira left.

Corberan has been in charge of Leeds’ hugely successful U23 outfit. Under the Spaniard’s management they won the Professional Development League and that success has seen the 36-year-old linked with his first senior management role.

Leeds fans understandably don’t want him to leave considering the job he has done with the young players this season.

Many fans on Twitter have even dubbed him as Marcelo Bielsa’s successor due to the promise he has shown at U23 level.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying about the report…
