Leeds United fans on Twitter have made it very clear that they want the club to pay tribute to Howard Wilkinson in one way or another as their former manager celebrated his 76th birthday.
There were plenty of suggestions as to what the club should do to celebrate the successful gaffer, and these ranged from a new statue, all the way to naming a new training ground in his honour.

You can understand why fans want to see him commemorated in such a way as Wilkinson has to go down as one of the greatest managers in the club’s storied history.
Indeed, Wilkinson was hugely successful at Elland Road leading them to the league title for the first time since the era of Don Revie.
The successes of Wilkinson’s teams haven’t been replicated since his departure, and fans think he deserves a fitting tribute from the club.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on Twitter…

Legend. Needs more recognition from the club. Any new training ground should be named after him

I’ve long thought the club should name the East Stand after him. Wilko’s achievements are fairly under acknowledged at Elland Road, so honouring him through the stand that he helped get built would be fitting.

The Sir Howard Wilkinson East Stand please!

Surely he’s the next manager to have a stand named after him 🤔💛💙

Legend, should have a stand and a road near the ground named after him. Do it while he is alive aswel so he can appriciate it

And still hasn’t got a befitting tribute at Elland Road. Announce the Howard Wilkinson Stand.
