Leeds fans want U18s to replace first team after emphatic win

Leeds fans have plotted a genius way to fix their side’s form – by replacing them with the Under-18s, who won 5-0 this weekend.

It’s been a miserable season for Leeds fans. After a fantastic start to the Championship season, United have suffered a woeful run of form, picking up a remarkable eight points since Boxing Day.

Thomas Christiansen was replaced by Paul Heckingbottom in February, but it made virtually no impact on the side’s form, and Heckingbottom now has one of the worst win percentages in Leeds managerial history.

His side suffered yet another defeat on Saturday, as two late goals from Atdhe Nuhiu was enough to cancel out Jay-Roy Grot’s first league goal for the club. Leeds are now limping along in mid-table, nine points closer to the drop zone than the automatic promotion places.

The U18s squad have had no such troubles, and they continued their fine form with a 5-0 win over QPR on Saturday. They are now third in the U18 Professional Development League, boasting a goal difference the senior side could only dream of at +16.

Leeds fans have been reacting to the result on Twitter, and it seems like they’ve all had the same idea. Some of the best reactions can be found below…
