Young winger Jack Harrison made his first competitive start for Leeds in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening and Whites fans on Twitter were excited by his potential after seeing him get meaningful game time in Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Leeds progressed to the second round of the competition with a 2-1 win over fellow Championship side Bolton thanks to first half goals from new signing Patrick Bamford and attacking midfielder Samuel Saiz.
Harrison joined Leeds on loan from Manchester City this summer after Bielsa was appointed manager, with City boss Pep Guardiola once hailing the Argentine as the best coach in the world, according to Goal.
The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Middlesbrough after joining the now Premier League champions from their sister side New York City FC in the MLS, but Harrison failed to break into Tony Pulis’ side, making just four appearances from the bench.
Leeds fans on Twitter were excited by his obvious talent and performance against Bolton, but were also keen to point out that his end product or final ball needed to improve. Check out some of their best tweets below.
I wanted to like Harrison and Roberts but felt they were both on the wrong wings
I understand Bielsa likes to have left footers on the left but Harrison has always been a RW
He looked at a loss of what to do when in possession, hence why his final ball was lacking #LUFC

Would do just as well imo, can't fault Alioski at the start of this season, but Harrison does look like he'll fill in for Pablo or Alioski and may even push them for a starting place.

Considering it was most of those players first competitive game last night, I thought it’s was a good performance. The full backs looked really promising, both going to be top players. Bamford has the quality, Harrison is going to be a threat. We do have strength in depth #LUFC

1/2 Conclusions after tonights game. Shackleton apart from being a lovely lad is a neat, skillful little player…gets stuck in. Harrison good but needs to work on final ball/delivery. Bamford lovely goal. Led from front …ran and ran worked hard. Ayling sold. Saiz sublime #lufc

Great result. Loads of players finally getting game time, some full 90.
Shackleton is a little best 💪
Bamford’s 1st goal 🙌
Harrison has bags of potential 🌟
Kalvin Phillips is our engine #lufc

Harrison can challenge Alioski too. Alioski's worked to the bone for us but sometimes I think he relies a lot on others to put things on a plate for him.
Harrison looks to have a bit more in 1-on-1's, that's what I want to see more of by Alioski. Good competition anyway. #LUFC

So, Leeds fans, would you like to see Harrison start over Ezgjan Alioski against Rotherham on Saturday?
