Leeds goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell lavished with praise after Bolton victory

It had been four games without a win for Leeds United before they saw off Bolton 2-1 at Elland Road on Good Friday thanks to goals either side of half-time from Caleb Ekuban and Pablo Hernandez.

When Wanderers goalkeeper Ben Alnwick made a hash of Ezgjan Alioski’s shot and allowed former Swansea playmaker Hernandez to score on 50 minutes, it looked as if the home fans might just be in for a rare comfortable afternoon.

It was not to be as, just three minutes later, Adam Le Fondre caught the Whites defence napping to nod home at the near post and set up a nervous final 35 minutes.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side held out however and the introduction of youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who measures up at 1.94m or 6ft 4, according to Transfermarkt, has given new-found confidence to the Leeds backline.

His composed performance was in stark contrast to the struggles of Alnwick at the other end and after a season where the goalkeeper debate has dominated much of the discussion at Elland Road, his impressive form has not gone unnoticed.
