According to a Q&A that Leeds Live has carried out with Leeds United supporters, the club’s only outstanding transfer target for the summer is winger Ryan Kent, which leaves them in danger of repeating their costly January mistake.
Well, one fan asked the media outlet whether any more incomings were expected at Elland Road before the deadline next Thursday, and the response was certainly an interesting one.
Leeds Live wrote: “Orta has said the club’s business is around 90 per cent done, which clearly means there is space for the right player on the right terms. While most of us, including me, feel another centre-back would be beneficial it seems Ryan Kent remains the outstanding option the club would be open to.
“Remember, Kent was wanted before the Clarke business went through, meaning they would have wanted both. Clarke’s return does not fill the Kent gap.
“Bielsa is happy. He agreed terms with the club this summer based on those four transfer targets established by Orta (Costa, Harrison, White, Kent). The latter is the only outstanding name.”

It appears that way.
According to Leeds Live, Bielsa has attained three of the four transfer targets he and the club wanted, and it appears as though they haven’t given up on bringing Liverpool winger Ryan Kent to Elland Road either.
However, it is hard to see that the wide positions should be a priority over the centre-back and the striker positions – and especially the former – considering they already have Ezgjan Alioski, Pablo Hernandez, Jack Clarke, Jack Harrison and Helder Costa to pick from there.
Leeds Live suggests that Ben White was the centre-back target the Argentine and the Yorkshire outfit identified, and now they have got him there may not be another arrival – slightly concerning given that he has never played above League One level before.

Some Leeds supporters were furious with owner Andrea Radrizzani when the club failed to capitalise on their strong position by bringing anyone in during the January transfer window to what had been an injury-hit squad at times, with the club eventually beaten in the play-offs.
If the Whites fail to strengthen at the heart of their backline or up top, they will be in real danger of leaving themselves short again in key areas ahead of another arduous Championship campaign.
Orta’s 90% comment provides some hope deals are still there to be done in the next seven days, but if it is simply Kent and no-one else then some of the Elland Road faithful may not be happy at all come the deadline.
