Leeds miss out on another target as Bartley agrees move to West Brom

Leeds United target Kyle Bartley is set to join West Bromwich Albion for £4million, according to The Express and Star.

What’s the story?

The 27-year-old central defender has been on the books of Swansea City since 2012, and he spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Leeds where he made 45 appearances and scored six goals in an impressive spell for the Whites.

The Arsenal youth product was a transfer target for Leeds this summer but now West Brom have agreed a deal of £4million for the talent, who becomes the club’s second signing of the summer after goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Missed opportunity for Leeds

Bartley was the perfect partner for Pontus Jansson when they played together two seasons ago, and Marcelo Bielsa should have done all he could to reunite the pair.

This is another missed opportunity in what is turning out to be a frustrating transfer window for Leeds and with only three weeks before the season begins, Andrea Radrizzani needs to make sure they don’t miss out on anymore targets.
