According to The Telegraph journalist John Percy on his official Twitter account, Derby County manager Frank Lampard is interested in bringing Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount, rated at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, to the iPro Stadium this summer, and the Rams’ Championship rivals Leeds United must hijack any potential move.

Well, John Percy says that Lampard wants to raid his former club to sign the England U19 international, and while the former Three Lions international has held talks with the Blues over a potential move, he will face plenty of competition to sign the talented teenager.
The names of the other clubs interested aren’t disclosed in the tweet, but it would certainly be no surprise if it included a number of Championship clubs given Mount’s success during a temporary spell with Vitesse Arnhem last term.
The Portsmouth-born starlet scored 13 goals and provided a further 10 assists – which included a hat-trick and assist in a Europa League play-off tie against ADO Den Haag in May – in 39 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie outfit.
Well, the Yorkshire club have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer market so far despite the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager last month, and the Argentine will surely want to start bringing new players to Elland Road sooner rather than later.
Mount tended to play in a central attacking midfield/No.10 role for Vitesse last term, but he is also able to play out wide and there is no doubt that the skilful 19-year-old would bring plenty of quality to the Leeds midfield.
Whether it is competition for Samu Saiz or Pablo Hernandez, he could be a key player in helping United, who must sign a Liverpool man on loan to add to their attacking options, finally return to the Premier League after such a long absence.
