According to Goal.com, Chelsea are prepared to allow Ethan Ampadu to leave the club on loan during the January transfer window, and Leeds United should fight to bring the teenager to Elland Road.
Ampadu made his first-team debut for Exeter City at the age of 15, and went on to appear 13 times for the club before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2017.
The 18-year-old made seven first-team appearances for Chelsea under Antonio Conte last season, but is yet to turn out for the Blues during the 2018-19 campaign.
According to Goal.com, Chelsea have accepted that Ampadu needs first-team football in order to continue his development, and the Blues are open to allowing him a loan move to the Championship at the start of 2019.
Derby County and Aston Villa have been linked with a move, but Leeds must ensure that they win the race for the Welshman.
Indeed, the Whites need to boost their squad in January if they are to sustain a promotion challenge, and Ampadu would be the perfect arrival.
Capable of playing in midfield and at the back, Ampadu really is some talent, and regular Championship football would do him the world of good at this stage of his career.
He is already a five-time Wales international, and at 6ft, boasts the frame needed to be a competitor at Championship level despite his youth.
Ampadu only signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea in September, and there is every reason to believe that he will go on to forge a career at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder is already too good for Under-23 level, however, and needs first-team football to ensure that his development does not stall in the coming months.
Leeds are third in the Championship table entering the latest international break, but suffered a 4-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, and will be in need of reinforcements at the start of 2019.
