Leeds name Tony Yeboah’s volley as the best goal ever scored for the club

Leeds United turned 100 on Thursday and that landmark led to a lot of reflection on the club’s storied history.

The Yorkshire club are one of England’s most iconic teams, whether it’s Don Revie’s side that dominated in the late 1960s and early 1970s, or the early 2000s Champions League contenders, all the way up to Marcelo Bielsa’s current crop of talent – there’s never been a boring time at Elland Road.

A lot of goals have been scored for the Whites over the past 100 years, and it would be tough to narrow those down to a top ten. However, the club’s YouTube channel have done just that, and the winner wasn’t very surprising.

Indeed, Tony Yeboah’s incredible volley against Liverpool was named as the best goal ever scored for Leeds.

Is anyone surprised? Yeboah’s goal may be one of the best ever in football history never mind just for the Whites.
