This time last year, Leeds United were in a strong position to go on and get promoted to the Premier League.
We all know that it didn’t work out how they’d have liked it as they missed out on promotion. Many Leeds fans blamed Andrea Radrizzani’s lack of work in the January transfer window for their failure.

The Italian only managed to get one man through the door last winter as Kiko Casilla was the sole arrival at Elland Road.
It seems as though Leeds are going to do at least twice as much business this month as Elia Caprile and Ian Poveda are reportedly close to signing.
It’s positive to see Leeds are getting bodies in, but Radrizzani should still feel under pressure to bring in another player.
With all due respect, Poveda and Caprile aren’t going to change Leeds’ destiny all that much. If they do indeed sign, they’re likely to be third-choice in their respective positions. The latter would be behind Casilla and Illan Meslier while Pablo Hernandez and Helder Costa would be ahead of Poveda in the pecking order.
However, there is one spot that desperately needs bolstering, and that’s up front.
Eddie Nketiah’s recall has left Leeds in the lurch desperately needing another attacker to play second-fiddle to Patrick Bamford.
The Whites have targets in their sights with the likes of Che Adams and Billy Sharp linked in recent weeks, but those deals both look as though they’ll be tough to complete after their respective managers’ comments.
The last thing Leeds want is another Dan James situation where they leave it too late and fail to get their man. While Radrizzani looks likely to do twice as much business as he did last January, that simply won’t be enough to satisfy the club’s needs. They need to do more.
In other news, Victor Orta deserves a lot of credit for one aspect of his job.
