Leeds’ Augustin has been impressive despite lack of first-team minutes

Jean-Kevin Augustin’s start to life at Elland Road hasn’t exactly gone to plan, has it?

The Frenchman has played just 33 minutes for the Yorkshire club since joining in late January, and he’s not done all that much during that time, failing to score or assist in either of his cameo appearances.

However, just because he hasn’t been getting the job done on the pitch doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been impressive off of it.

The Frenchman’s fitness may not be quite up to Marcelo Bielsa’s standards yet, but everything he’s doing seems to suggest that he has the right attitude to become a star at the club.

First and foremost, the 22-year-old is already one of the most passionate players in the squad.

He’s only at Leeds and loan, and he’s only been at the club for just over two weeks, but he’s already said that the atmosphere at Elland Road makes him want to die for the club, and that is everything you’d want to hear from a new signing.

Not only that, but he’s also been showing what he’s all about on social media. He immediately expressed his love for the fanbase after sitting in the stands for Leeds’ 3-2 win over Millwall last month, and he posted a defiant and impassioned message on his Instagram after United’s 1-1 draw with Brentford this week.

Of course, what really matters is what goes on in training and in matches, and this week he’s received glowing reports, with Football Insider stating that he’s showing great enthusiasm and willingness to put in the hard yards at Thorp Arch to get up to the fitness levels required of him.

What scoreline does this iconic Leeds image belong to?

Augustin may not have done much to wow us in his first-team appearances yet, but everything you see or hear about him away from matchdays seems to be brilliant.

His attitude and mindset seem to be in the right place, and if that translates into good performances he could be a huge player from now until the end of the season.

In other news, Leeds would have benefitted massively if the FA did one thing.
