Leeds U23 players celebrate McCarron’s Scotland debut

Leeds’ U23 side have been quite successful in recent times.

The young outfit won last season’s PDL National title, and a number of players have come through the academy to make their first-team debuts under Marcelo Bielsa.

Indeed, the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton became first-team regulars last season after coming through the academy, and this year we’ve seen Leif Davis and Jordan Stevens handed more prevalent roles with numerous appearances on the bench and even some senior minutes.

There’s every chance that Liam McCarron could be the next player to graduate from the U23s to the senior squad as his impressive showings for Carlos Corberan’s side has earned him his first-ever international cap at youth level.

What scoreline does this iconic Leeds image belong to?

He said it was a dream come true, and he wasn’t the only one happy with this milestone.

Of course, a number of his U23s teammates took to social media to congratulate him for this achievement.

It has to be said that McCarron deserves plaudits for receiving international recognition, and hopefully this is the first of many appearances for the teenager.

In other news, Leeds looked at this manager before appointing Marcelo Bielsa.
