According to The Sun, Leeds United are set to raid Manchester City for four loan signings, with goalkeeper Angus Gunn, defender Tosin Adarabioyo, attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz and striker Lukas Nmecha potentially on their way to Elland Road this summer.
New Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa said in his first press conference that he was keen to strengthen four or five positions in the squad and it looks like he’s already getting started.
The Sun report that Bielsa was a huge influence on Pep Guardiola early in his career and the Premier League-winning manager is now happy to lend a few players to help him in his new job, particularly as they both adopt a high-pressing style of play.
Angus Gunn has been linked with Leeds for some time as they are in need of a goalkeeper for the upcoming season.
Adarabioyo, 20, is a towering 6ft5 centre-back who has made four first-team appearances for Man City, while Lukas Nmecha, 19, is a highly-rated young striker.
Brahim Diaz, 18, is considered a real talent and is comfortable playing across the line in attacking midfield and was rumoured to be a target for West Ham this summer.
These four players could inject real excitement and youth into the Leeds squad and they are each considered top players of the future.
Of course, Leeds won’t want to consider themselves as a Man City training club but if these players could help Bielsa in his first season in English football then they would be silly to say no.
If they come recommended by Guardiola, Leeds fans know they have quality and it won’t cost them anything in transfer fees.
Signing these players for the coming season would be a real signal of intent from Bielsa.
