Leeds United are interested in signing River Plate goalkeeper Augusto Batalla according to AS Argentina.
The 22-year-old is a product of the River Plate academy and made his debut for the club in 2016.
He has gone on to make 36 appearances for the Argentinian side but fell down the pecking order after they signed two more experienced goalkeepers.
Now Leeds are interested in signing the shot-stopper who is valued at £1.8million on Transfermarkt.
Leeds need to recruit a goalkeeper this summer, and recent efforts to sign Manchester City’s Angus Gunn were thwarted after Southampton won the race for his signature.
However, Batalla looks like he could be in the mould of Felix Wiedwald as he is particularly prone to errors, so much so that there is a seven-minute YouTube compilation video of all his howlers.
Recent links with Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman would be a much better shout for Marcelo Bielsa, as the goalkeeper knows the division and inspires much more confidence in his defence.
