Leeds United are interested in signing West Ham youngster Domingos Quina according to The Mirror’s live blog (11/07 14:00).
The 18-year-old midfielder joined West Ham in 2016 after having spent time at Chelsea’s and Benfica’s academies but is yet to make a senior Premier League appearance for the Hammers.
The hot prospect was touted as one of the top young talents in Europe by West Ham’s academy director Terry Westley when he signed for the club but he hasn’t yet hit the heights many thought he would.
Now Leeds and Newcastle are rumoured to be interested in signing the Portuguese star.
There’s clearly a reason Quina was so highly-rated when he first signed for West Ham but he hasn’t been given the chance to shine for the first-team yet.
With only a year left on his contract Leeds could sign him on the cheap, and given the talent that he has he would be an upgrade on another Whites youngster in Ronaldo Vieira in the middle of the park for Leeds.
While it would be seen as a gamble it is one that would likely pay off as Quina will look to show that he is the real deal and prove his doubters wrong.
