According to AS Argentina, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to make a move for his compatriot Juan Foyth on loan from Tottenham in January.
Leeds were heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old in the summer, but Bielsa prefers to work with small squads and presumably passed up any opportunity to target the centre-back.
In recent weeks though Leeds have suffered a number of injuries and, after their lightning0quick start to the season, the Whites have now won just two of their previous seven league games.
As well as the obvious problems going forward with summer-signing Patrick Bamford ruled out for five months and Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez having missed the past few weeks, Bielsa has also had problems at the back.
Gaetano Berardi started the season brilliantly at centre-back but he is only set to return from injury against Blackburn this weekend, and his time on the sidelines has proved that the Argentine boss must strengthen his defensive options.
The Championship season is a long and arduous one with the games coming thick and fast. It is certainly more intense than any of the other leagues that Bielsa has managed in throughout his long career, and the key to promotion could lie in the depth of the squads near the top.

Bielsa likes to play high-intensity football with a high-press, but this has clearly been taking its toll on the squad. Signing Foyth though would be a great option, and it would seem that the youngster is a perfect fit for the style of play.
The Spurs man is yet to make an appearance in this campaign and only played in cup games during his first season with the club last year. Valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, Foyth is a ball-playing centre-back who could push Leeds to promotion if given the chance.
