It’s a great time to be associated with Leeds United.
The Whites are now eight points clear of third place and they’re in a great spot to go on and win promotion back to the Premier League 16 years on from their relegation.
Spirits are certainly high in the stands at Elland Road, and it seems as if they are on the pitch as well, as one image from Saturday’s match shows just how close the current crop of players are.
This snap was taken immediately after Pablo Hernandez put the Whites two goals to the good, and while a number of players flocked to congratulate the Spaniard on his goal, the 34-year-old’s main priority seemed to be to give credit to Jack Harrison as his beauty of a cross put the ball on a plate for Hernandez.
Eddie Nketiah, Helder Costa and Ezgjan Alioski all celebrated alongside the midfielder after he found the net, but all attention was turned on Harrison after the initial joy died down.
This United team isn’t about personal accolades or wanting to increase your individual goal tally, it’s about working as a cohesive unit in order to get three points week in week out.
This image shows just how engrained that mindset is amongst Marcelo Bielsa’s players as Hernandez was quick to point out Harrison’s contribution when he could easily have taken the credit himself.
Meanwhile, Phil Hay has stated that one Leeds man hasn’t started discussions for new contract yet.
