It is an important summer for Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United as they look to recover from the disappointment of failing to secure promotion to the Premier League. Today’s transfer roundup for the Whites includes updates on three strikers who have caught the eyes of the Elland Road outfit.
Blow in Brown pursuit
Leeds’ hopes of signing Reece Brown have been dealt a blow as Huddersfield Town have leapfrogged them according to Football Insider. The midfielder, who scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists last season for League Two side Forest Green, is out of contract this summer and the Terriers are determined to add the player to their options.
According to TEAMtalk, Bielsa and co are interested in signing Stephy Mavididi from Juventus on a short-term basis. The 6 foot former Arsenal youngster – who operates as a forward or a winger – played for Juve’s U23 for most of last season and was even handed his first-team debut at the end of the campaign. Everton and Newcastle are amongst the other teams interested.
Costa exit likely
Express and Star have reported that Helder Costa, as well as teammate Ivan Cavaleiro look set to leave Wolves this summer, with the club open to offers for both players who were amongst the Championship’s best performers during the 2017/18 season. Costa was linked with a loan move to Elland Road last week, although it is not clear whether Wolves are interested in parting with him temporarily.
