As reported by The Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing Derby County attacker Matej Vydra this summer, in a deal possibly worth as much as £10m.
The paper reckon Derby may need to sell the player because of financial fair play regulations, opening the door for the Elland Road side to add the kind of firepower that could seriously boost their promotion ambitions next season.
Vydra was the division’s top scorer in 2017/18, scoring 21 goals, almost double the total of Leeds’ top scorer in all competitions for the season.
Fans are certainly excited by the reports, believing even being linked with the player shows that the club are showing the kind of ambition they’ve been craving for years.
With a new boss also set to be appointed, it’s an exciting time for supporters. Will next season be the one they finally win promotion back to the Premier League?
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the Vydra links…
Linked with Vydra, Hernandez, Bartley and Bielsa all in one summer. Where is my Leeds and what have you done with it? #lufc

We’re in a situation where I’d be buzzing with either Vydra or Hernandez. It’s a no lose situation. Finally. #lufc

Linked with Vydra.. I’d prefer him to Abel if I’m honest! Nice to see us being linked with decent players/managers #lufc

The fact we’re being linked with players like vydra this season as opposed to Ekuban and Grot shows the difference in approach! Radz has learnt his lesson it seems! #lufc

I swear if I see fans moaning that we are willing to pay £10m for Vydra. Radz can't win. Doesn't spend a lot, gets abuse, spends some, too much money. #lufc

Leeds looking at Vydra if they can’t get Hernandez? What’s going on! And Bielsa is a fan of Vydra so could see us go for him over Hernandez 😮 #lufc
