Leeds United fans do not want Liam Cooper involved against Derby County

Leeds United are preparing to face Derby County at Pride Park in their Championship clash, however, fans are desperate for Liam Cooper to be left out of the matchday squad.

Paul Heckingbottom will be able to recall a number of players back to his first-team after a number of suspensions left the Whites depleted in areas.

The new manager has admitted that Cooper, as well as Samuel Saiz and Gaetano Berardi, are all looking forward to getting back involved with the team, however, fans are not convinced all of them should be involved.

The defender, who is also the club’s skipper, has been unavailable for the Elland Road outfit for the last four matches due to a poor disciplinary record.

He has been a mainstay in the defence, especially when Thomas Christiansen was in charge, making 26 appearances in the Championship, however, supporters are hopeful a new manager will mean less game-time for Cooper.

Fans have taken to Twitter to state that they want him as far away from the starting XI as possible, with a number of the Whites’ faithful believing he is a liability at the back.
