Leeds United’s failure to win automatic promotion has partially been attributed to their lack of cutting edge in attack.
Patrick Bamford has taken the brunt of the criticism during a period of time when he has been the club’s first choice striker by default.
Kemar Roofe has spent a signification portion of time on the sideline of late and his struggle for fitness has left some fans pondering what might have been, but a recent report from the Yorkshire Evening Post suggests that he will be back in contention to face Ipswich this weekend.
And those members of the Whites faithful who have been harbouring doubts over the sharpness of their star striker may feel more at ease after watching the 26-year-old’s latest training ground video.
Indeed, Roofe posted a short clip on Instagram yesterday which will leave fans drooling ahead of the play-offs.
Within the video Roofe receives a diagonal long ball from Kalvin Phillips inside the left channel, takes one touch to set himself with his left foot and unleashes a venomous yet sumptuously placed finish into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper in a state of statuesque admiration.
If Roofe can replicate that type of quality in the play-offs there’s no doubt Leeds could yet reach the promised land at the end of a turbulent campaign.
