Leeds United are interested in signing Peterborough United star Marcus Maddison, although they will face some fierce competition for his signature from a number of Championship rivals, according to The Birmingham Mail.
The 24-year-old has been at Peterborough since 2014 and has gone on to make 148 appearances for the Posh, scoring 35 goals.
The versatile midfielder has made a reputation as a free-kick specialist and only Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne registered more assists than him in England last season.
According to the report, Maddison could be available for £2.5million and as well as Leeds, West Brom, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Derby, Wigan and Blackburn are keen on signing the highly-rated talent this summer.

The playmaker would be a perfect addition to Bielsa’s squad and would give the team the ability to create something out of nothing.
He would form a strong partnership with Patrick Bamford with his pinpoint passing, and for a relatively small fee considering other Championship transfers this summer, Marclo Bielsa would have an excellent creative outlet on his hands that could take Leeds to the next level.
If Victor Orta wants to give Bielsa all the tools he needs to get Leeds promoted, a player like Maddison could make all the difference and be what de Bruyne has been for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
