Mateusz Klich gives verdict on Leeds’ season so far

Leeds United have enjoyed a hugely entertaining season so far. The Whites have played some scintillating football, Marcelo Bielsa has brought his philosophy of intensity to Yorkshire, and youth prospects are getting their chances to shine in the first team. Elland Road is unsurprisingly full to the rafters every week with the club are in the thick of the Championship title race.

A number of first team players have come on leaps and bounds this season, including Mateusz Klich. The 28-year-old midfielder has been a regular starter under Bielsa and took his league goal tally for the season to eight with his strike against Reading last time out – eclipsing his previous career-best for a single campaign.

Are fans being priced out of the Championship as well as the Premier League? The angry Bolton fan in the video below certainly believes so…

The 15-cap Poland international has recently given his verdict on what life has been like at Leeds this season.

What he said

In a press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United at Elland Road, as quoted by the club on Twitter, Klich said of the season so far: “This year it has been different, I enjoy being on the pitch, and I enjoy being part of the future of Leeds United. It has been the best season of my life.”

One man to thank

Klich’s career at Leeds looked all but over last year, as he was shipped off on loan to FC Utrecht having lost his first team place in Yorkshire without ever even really getting a chance.

Bielsa brought the Polish ace back into the fold upon his arrival though, and Klich has since flourished. As with so many of his Leeds teammates, the midfielder has taken his game to new heights under the Argentine coach.

Klich’s comments suggest that both on and off the pitch Bielsa has revived his fortunes in Yorkshire.
