Leeds United fans were once big admirers of Garry Monk given that he led a promotion charge for the Whites in the Championship.
Last season, the Yorkshire club came agonisingly close to securing a playoff spot, but they missed out by a whisker to Fulham in the closing stages of the campaign.
Rather than pen fresh terms at Elland Road, Monk decided to walk away and eventually took up the vacant post at Middlesbrough.
Monk only lasted until Christmas at the Riverside Stadium as he was sacked while the club were in ninth place, three points off the top six.
The former Swansea City boss now has a new gig as he was named as Steve Cotterill’s replacement at St Andrew’s, where a big task awaits as the Midlands outfit reside three points adrift of safety.
At the time of Monk’s exit at Leeds, many supporters were disappointed by the coach’s decision not to sign a new deal, and judging by the reaction to his appointment at Birmingham, some still hold a grudge.
Others, though, are more concerned about their own club.

No ill will towards Monk. 2016-17 was the most I've enjoyed a season in years. But he can search every club in the Football League for the kind of adulation that we gave him and he'll never find it. And I suspect he already knows the truth of this. #lufc

Inevitable that some will be wondering what might have been had Monk stayed. #lufc

Garry Monk to Birmingham when really he should still be at Leeds with Bartley as captain and we should be in the top 2 getting ready for promotion when in reality we’re 12th, 8 points off the play offs, below Millwall & Liam Cooper is captain ..but I’m not sad it’s okay #LUFC pic.twitter.com/Zmc6k3t2S1

Monk has now managed 3 clubs in 7 months😂 Since turning down a 3 year deal with @LUFC he has wasted £50,000,000 at @Boro (without reaching the top 6 once) he was also beaten by @LUFC & was sacked within 5 months. He's now the manager of @BCFC (who are 22nd in the league) #LUFC pic.twitter.com/XREWWvSZmI
