Moyes’ Sunderland revolution continues with midfielder transfer imminent

According to reports from The Northern Echo, Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt is expected to complete a transfer to Leeds United today.

The Black Cats signed the 27-year-old from Brighton in January 2014 but he’s struggled to impact at the Stadium of Light, making just 30 appearances in the Premier League.

The Scotland international spent the second half of last season on loan at Leeds United and now looks set to return to Elland Road in a permanent transfer.

The defensive midfielder reportedly agreed the terms of a two-year contract and took a medical with the Championship outfit yesterday, according to Yorkshire Evening Post.

And The Northern Echo expect Bridcutt’s move¬†to go through today, with the former Chelsea youngster due to put pen to paper this morning.

Sunderland have reached a ‘financial agreement’ to effectively cancel the final year of the midfielder’s contract and free him up for an Elland Road switch.
