Leeds United are going well under Marcelo Bielsa so far this season, with the Whites currently sitting in second place in the Championship table, but the Argentine boss must still add to his thin squad in the winter transfer window.
Throughout his long career, Bielsa has been known for preferring to work with small squads where he can impose his extreme methods and bring everyone onto the same page with his detailed tactical demands.
However, the Championship is a fiercely competitive league and the Elland Road outfit have been unlucky with injuries so far this season. Bielsa then should instruct director of football Victor Orta to reignite their interest in Peterborough United’s Marcus Maddison in January.
The Whites were linked with the 25-year-old attacker in the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised and Maddison was reintegrated into Steve Evans’ squad at London Road.
It’s easy to see why Bielsa was interested though, as Maddison netted 12 goals and provided an incredible 23 assists in all competitions last season, and he is starting to find that form again now with one goal and five assists in 17 games so far in this campaign.
Maddison can play on either wing or in a central attacking midfield position and he would be a perfect fit for Bielsa’s four-man attack behind striker Kemar Roofe.

The Peterborough man then could be a perfect replacement for the out of form Ezgjan Alioski on the wing for the Whites.
The Macedonian international has come in for some strong criticism from his own fans in recent weeks and he has failed to score or provide an assist in the previous seven games, despite starting all of them.
So, Leeds fans, would you like to see Orta go back in for Maddison in January? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
