Former Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri was one of the many football figures impressed by Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s display at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old was selected by Leeds head coach Paul Heckingbottom to start against Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It seems that the manager was listening to the fans’ complaints about Felix Wiedwald, who was dropped following some questionable performances in between the sticks.
The game did not go to plan for the Whites as they were beaten 3-0 on home soil, but they were the underdogs heading into the encounter.
In fact, Wolves have only lost five of their 35 league games this season, and they are on their way to securing Premier League promotion.
Despite conceding three goals, Peacock-Farrell put in a decent performance in what was just his second start for the club.
After the match, Silvestri, who ended his three-year stay at Leeds to join Hellas Verona last year, tweeted his praise to the young keeper.
Congratulation mate for you’r start @bailey_pf 💙💛 Yu deserve it !!
