Leeds United signed Chelsea attacker Izzy Brown on a season-long loan in the summer, as reported by the BBC.
The 22-year-old arrived at Elland Road with Championship pedigree, having been part of the Huddersfield Town side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2017. However, injury issues have prevented the former England under-20 international from having an impact yet for the Whites.
The forward is yet to make his first team debut for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but his time must now come.
Leeds are currently in the thick of a title fight, along with West Brom, Norwich City and Sheffield United. Any slip ups at this stage in the campaign could cost any of these four both the their chances of the title and automatic promotion to the top flight.
Given that Bielsa’s side play such intense football, and have only a small first team squad in the first place, fatigue could soon set in. The recent injury to top scorer Kemar Roofe makes the need to find rotation options all the more urgent – the success of Leeds’ season could hinge on it.
Bielsa must now show faith in Brown, before it’s too late.
