Leeds fans have been debating the future of manager Paul Heckingbottom, and the overwhelming majority of fans have ruled against the former Barnsley man.
Not much has gone right for Paul Heckingbottom since he took over at Elland Road. The performances haven’t improved, he hasn’t got the fans on side, and of course most importantly the results have been simply dreadful.
The young manager has made one major positive change, giving first team chances to youngsters like Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Paudie O’Connor and Tom Pearce.
Still, the lack of improvement in the performances and the shocking points return since Heckingbottom took over in February have turned most fans against him, and they’re already lining up replacements.
Mick McCarthy is one name on a lot of fans’ minds, and there have been plenty of shouts for Sam Allardyce since he left Everton last week, but could Carlos Carvalhal be the man to take Leeds to the promised land?
The 52 year-old has now officially left Swansea after their relegation, but the Swans were practically doomed when he arrived, as he quite rightly pointed out himself. The two clubs will now of course be rivals next season.
Carvalhal hasn’t won many major honours as a manager, but he does have Championship experience, and if Andrea Radrizzani is serious about summer investment then the Portuguese manager could work wonders.
Most fans clearly agree with this statement, as two thirds of voters opted to have Carvalhal in charge instead of Heckingbottom.
