Leeds are in urgent need of a new striker this month following the departure of Eddie Nketiah, but unfortunately for supporters there seems to be no progression on a deal to bring Che Adams to the club.
The Southampton striker has been in poor form since his summer move with zero goals in 19 games, but many Leeds fans are keen to get him on loan for the rest of the season as he remains their number one target.

Phil Hay has suggested the Whites are waiting for a response from Southampton as to whether they will allow him to leave, with a deadline reportedly set for a decision to be made – something which has prompted a mixed reaction from fans. Although these two individuals are eager to see him arrive.
Get it done leeds. GET IT DONE #mot

Sounds good to me. Adams is clearly Bielsa’s top target by a mile, I for one prefer we take reasonable time trying to get him to ER rather than panic and settle for a weaker player or worse fit. There needs to be a deadline but for me it can be another week no problem. #lufc

Some are naturally keen to see him join as he scored 22 goals in the Championship for Birmingham last season, and considering Patrick Bamford is the sole natural striker in the squad it would be a big blow if he was unavailable without Adams being brought in.
Call yourself a Leeds expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
However, supporters seem are becoming more sceptical about the chances of a deal being struck the longer the delay goes on, with some feeling a sense of deja vu from the previous January window, when they missed out on Dan James at the last hour.
De javu,we could have done with someone in for QPR to give us a lift but as usual it will drag on😫

Doesn’t Orta talk to anyone outside the transfer window? Deja vu every January transfer window!

As a result, supporters are hopeful that the club has back-up targets, and though the likes of Dwight Gayle and Billy Sharp have been linked to the club recently, there is a lack of evidence that progress is being made on other potential forwards.
That is a worrying sign as it suggests the Yorkshire outfit could be putting all of their eggs in one basket, something which they could later regret if they miss out on Adams.
This is going to go to the end of January isn’t it Phil

Who are the other targets? Emile Heskey? Peter crouch?
