Tom Pearce has committed his future to Leeds and fans are delighted

Leeds United fans are delighted with the news that young full-back Tom Pearce has signed a contract extension at the club until 2022.

The 20-year-old made five appearances at the end of this season, scoring once, and the youngster has repaid the faith the club showed in him by signing the deal.

Pearce, who was nominated for the club’s Young Player of the Year award, was being courted by Everton and Bournemouth following his performances for the Whites.

The left-back was offered a new deal on May 18th, and under football league guidelines, had one month to accept the terms of the deal.

Fans will be hoping Pearce can join Leeds’ impressive roster of academy talent which has seen the likes of James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Woodgate and Lewis Cook go on to successful careers in the top-flight.

Leeds supporters have been celebrating the news on Twitter, with many hoping it will be the first of many positive announcements by the club this summer.
