Worst pundit going: Leeds fans slam Dean Saunders after outrageous claim

Leeds fans on Twitter have been berating Dean Saunders after the controversial pundit made an outrageous claim on TalkSport.

Saunders and Alan Brazil were reacting to Henry Winter’s piece about why Leeds United belong in the Premier League and the Welshman took issue with that notion, stating that clubs such as Derby, Nottingham Forest and Swansea are all as big as Leeds.

Fans on Twitter were quick to disagree with Saunders’ view as they believe that their club is worthy of a place in the Premier League due to their history and the size of the fanbase.

It’s hard to argue against the size of the Yorkshire club. They are three-time champions of England and have previously won the FA Cup. They dominated football during the 1970s and were consistently challenging for silverware up until the 2000s.

Elland Road also garners some of the largest crowds in the country with Leeds having the second highest average attendance in the Championship.

Fans take pride in the size of their club and clearly weren’t happy when Saunders questioned that.
